Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it?
The creative spirits behind each delectable masterpiece are local pastry chefs Gloria Bednarz and Guenter Hess. Both Gloria and Guenter have headlined in the kitchen at some of the most esteemed dining establishments in Edmonton; and together the two draw upon over 50 years combined experience in the pastry industry.
In November 2007, this dynamic duo fulfilled a lifelong dream and opened The Art of Cake, a specialized, made to order, cake company. The guiding principle in each of their endeavours is that a cake has the power to transform a small get-together into an event worth calling home about. They combine aesthetics and good flavour to produce a cake that contributes to the overall energy of a celebration.
In addition to their professional experience, Gloria and Guenter each bring a unique edge to their work that is grounded in their personal lives. Guenter has taken several art classes, predominantly in drawing and watercolours, which have refined his artistic sense. Gloria, on the other hand, was born into a large family whose family home was a revolving door for family and friends. On account of this, she recognized her talent in the kitchen at an early age and also learned the entertainment value of good food.
The Art of Cake prepares all of their products with natural whole ingredients and a whole lot of heart.
